Founder & CEO

Benjamin B. Brodey, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Brodey is a graduate of MIT and Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency training with the Yale Department of Psychiatry, after which he worked on public policy issues as a Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of  Washington. While a RWJ-CSP Fellow, Dr. Brodey also obtained his M.P.H. in health services research. His breadth of experience with public-sector mental health consumers includes volunteer work with Health Care for the Homeless in Seattle, Medical Director of an inpatient unit at Western State Hospital, and 5 years as a staff psychiatrist and eventually lead psychiatrist at King County Correctional Facility in Washington state, the 12th largest city jail in the U.S. These experiences led Dr. Brodey to found TeleSage, Inc. in 1996 as a developer of  health-related research software for the advancement of heathcare including diagnosis, outcomes tracking, treatment evaluation, reporting to regulatory agencies, as well as ameliorate the suffering of people with mental illness.

 

Director of Software Development

Robert Soule, B.S.

Mr. Soule has more than 20 years of software and electrical engineering experience including system architecture, application development, machine design, and engineering management.  While still a high school student, Mr. Soule co-founded and directed a computer entertainment company and designed and implemented one of the most advanced real-time, three-dimensional game engines of its time.  After graduating as Valedictorian from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Mr. Soule continued to develop a broad background in software and systems architecture for a variety of applications.  As Systems Architect at Hand Held Products, Inc., he directed engineering resources for new product development projects that spanned multiple continents and many engineering disciplines.  During his tenure as Manager of Technology Development at Bright View Technologies Corporation, he developed that company’s first rigorous product qualification process which established a controlled pipeline of development activity.  Mr. Soule’s solid financial and business acumen made him a valuable member of Bright View Technologies’ Management Team.  His passion for the strategy, tactics, and art of research & development underscores every project he contributes to at TeleSage.

   

Senior Software Architect

Milo Fryling, M.A.

Mr. Fryling obtained his Masters degree in Physics from the University of Washington. After teaching high school Physics and Mathematics for 4 years, he developed and tested software with Active Voice Corporation for 5 years.  After joining Dr. Brodey in starting TeleSage, Inc., Mr. Fryling developed a voice mail system for Community Voice Mail, Seattle which fielded more than a million calls with messages for homeless/phoneless clients. Mr. Fryling designed and coded TeleSage's flagship SmartQ™ product suite, including utilities for multi-modal survey design and administration.  He also implemented the SmartQ™ fax reporting and email add-ons. Mr. Fryling has been instrumental in creating customized survey administration and data management systems, including an exit polling system used by all our major TV networks for two national elections. He has also developed custom projects for a number of major clients, including KAI, a CRO who has used SmartQ™ for clinical trial research, Interviewing Services of America (ISA), who has used SmartQ™ products for marketing research, and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), who utilized a hosted web-based survey to obtain data for their Grading the States report in 2010.
